Virtual Reality? Powai lake in the foreground, Vihar lake and the hills of Goregaon and Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali, in the distance. The patch of greenery on the right is the IIT Campus and behind it are the suburbs of Bhandup, Mulund and Thane.
As an oncologist it’s an all too familiar feeling. If left unchecked, sooner rather than later the surrounding development will gradually creep in till all that’s left is a photograph.

Zooming into the mischief! From my 21st storey apartment I got this photograph of a bunch of boys all smeared with colour; obviously on their way back from playing Holi (the Festival of Colour).
Even from this distance this photograph reeks of mischief, from the water balloons in their hands right down to the very shadows cast by the boys themselves.

Brooding skyscrapers. Tall skyscrapers appear to gaze contemplatively at the setting sun as another day slowly draws to a close.

Night Lights. Diwali is know as the Festival Of Light, and the surrounding buildings take the literal meaning very seriously. Driveways, car parks, trees, bushes…nothing is spared in the single minded determination to illuminate the area. And though it does make a very pretty picture and gives the entire area a fairytale look, one can’t help but speculate on the havoc it causes with the power bill!

Moonshine Magic. There is no denying the magic of the moon. Whether it be convincing a wolf that it can sing or an amateur photographer that he is a modern-day reincarnation of Van Gogh!
