Common stonechats (Saxicola torquatus) are small birds that are winter visitors to peninsula India. The image is of a female bird.
This is one of the last few images that I took during a lovely trip to friend's vineyard home. It was almost as if the bird was aware of the fact. She allowed me to get quite close resulting in some wonderful images in 'golden hour' light of the setting sun.
