Tickell’s blue flycatcher (Cyornis tickelliae) is small beautiful bird that is common in most rural areas on the incredibly diverse Konkan Coast of India. And yet I’m sure even residents of those locations will be wowed by its images swearing that have never seen a live bird!
A classic example of the truth behind the first lines of the W. H. Davies poem, ‘Leisure’:
“What is this life, if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?”
This particular bird is a juvenile (note the streaking on the head and back).
